Masturbation leads to death

If you are reading this article today, it might be because you are more or less concerned about masturbation. Whether it is out of curiosity or through real questions that you might ask yourself on this subject, I welcome you and I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

What does masturbation mean?

A well-known habit, masturbation has become an open, accepted and applauded practice these days, while remaining a taboo subject in many ways. If you didn’t know, I’ll teach you now: masturbation affects almost everyone, both men and women, and even children in some cases.

The Oxford Learner’s Dictionary explains the concept of masturbation as “the act of giving yourself sexual pleasure by rubbing your sexual organs.” To put it simply, it means seeking your own pleasure or that of another person by stimulation. Even if a majority of people are affected by masturbation, young people are undoubtedly more affected by this scourge.

When you reach puberty, a period of great bodily changes, one gets confronted with desires that he never had before; sexual attraction. His body begins to change and develop from a child’s body to an adult’s body, accompanied by an increase in male sex hormones (testosterone) or female hormones (estrogen), and also by growth hormones that will affect even the most private parts of the body. The young person begins to feel an attraction to one or more people of the opposite sex or even of the same sex in case of homosexuality (We will discuss the subject in more depth later) and this attraction will push him, most of the time, to change his behavior in front of the people who attract him.

Whether in college or high school, the young will be confronted with many situations that will push him to discover, test and explore his sexuality. Indeed, he will have to face sex education classes (wich take away the role of a parent to explain sexuality to their children) which encourage him to develop a form of sexual freedom and self-expression.

In addition to this, they will be confronted with bullying, jokes, tales and experiences of other students which can sometimes cause them to wonder about sexuality. The media play an important role in this propaganda which pushes people to masturbate, while defending that it has positive impacts on health and morale.

Some will say “Perfectly normal!”, “There’s nothing wrong about It” others will say; even the media praise the benefits of this habit.

According to a French study carried out by Statista, 207 people out of the 449 questioned, 80% of men and 64% of women have already tried or enjoyed masturbating. These figures are alarming and show that society implicitly accept this practice. In addition, the numbers of new gadgets and sextoys flooding the market is skyrocketing, ranging from simple objects to the must elaborated robot, the ones of course that has democratized masturbation.

Why hide?

Masturbation being linked to the five senses (Hearing, smell, touch, sight, taste), it leads most of the time to imagine or imitate a sexual relationship and to obtain the adequate “resources” necessary to obtain sufficient stimulation. Therefore, it is difficult to speak of masturbation without touching on another counterpart subject: pornography. Pornography is any type of printed or visual material (drawings, texts, images, paintings, shows, videos, etc.) containing the explicit description or display of a sexual activity intended to stimulate the public’s sexual arousal.

Since pornography is easily accessible through the internet without any problem or difficulty, many people use it to satisfy their lustful desires. Indeed, according to a study by Bitedefender, relayed by the professional press group BFMtv.com, 10% of the consumers of pornographic websites are 10 years old or less, while they have users who are only 6 years old. Many people discover sexuality through images before they can even understand what it means.

While researching content covering the subject, we found official traffic figures for one these websites. In 2016 alone, this site had 23 billion visitors and nearly 92 billion videos watched (exactly 91.980.225.000) which equates to 524.641 years of porn videos watched, just for this site in 2016. So instead of being educated on marriage or sexuality reserved for a married couple according to the word of Elohim (God), the young will be confronted with a perverted, wicked and above all false vision of sexuality, while always being pushed further in the obscenity and the perversion of practices seen and appreciated; because there is obviously a growing degradation of the morality of people soiled by these things which will inevitably be carried away and in which the image of the other will be more and more corrupted (oversexualization of men and women, sexualization of animals and even sexualized objects, homosexuality etc.)

“Wherefore Elohim (God) also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves […] For this cause Elohim (God) gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” Romans 1:24-27

The increasing corruption of mores and the desecration of sexual relations lead human beings to their own judgment.

In France in 2014, nearly 30% of men and 12% of women said they masturbated at least once a week. Many professionals oppose people who defend masturbation, and do not hesitate to denounce the practice by reporting the dangers, perverse aspects and hidden vices associated. Indeed, according to addiction specialists, masturbation acts as a haven for people who become easily addicted, showing sexual addiction and some form of emotional or affection instability.

The IFAC (Behavior Addiction Federative Institute) shows us warning signs of sexual addiction.

For example:

  • Regular and compulsive masturbation
  • Porn addiction
  • Difficulties in maintaining a healthy and stable social life

It leads addicted people to slavery, destroys lives and leads them to a state of extreme selfishness.

Let me ask you a few questions that I hope will give you some thought provoking sparks that will help you understand why I bring this habit to your attention:

“Why do we hide while masturbating?”

“Why is it so difficult to talk about this subject around us, whether it is our family, our relatives or a professional?”

“Why do we feel guilt and the feeling of being defiled after masturbation?”

“Why don’t we ever feel happy with this?”

In addition to the serious physical consequences of masturbation, as we saw earlier, we now understand that these little “signs” in our mind when we masturbate are our mind’s signal that something is wrong.

Why do we say that masturbation is a sin?

To fully understand why masturbation is a sin against the Lord, one must absolutely understand that sexuality was created and approved by the Lord himself! However, like all other aspects of our life, Elohim (God) set a framework that mustn’t be violated in any case and under any circumstances.

“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” Genesis 2:23-24

The word “to cleave” in Hebrew is “Dabaq”(daw-bak) and means: to hold on, to cling to, to cleave to, to stay with, to be united together, so pursue closely. Thus, we understand that this unity willed and permitted by the Lord has a much deeper meaning that the satisfaction of carnal desires. It is in fact the image of the physical manifestation of his love for his creature. With marriage, the Lord teaches us the true unconditional love which leads us to love our neighbor despite his faults, his errors and mistakes, his outlook and differences; the love that prompts us to sacrifice our own interests to serve others with respect, submission and humility.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

It is this love that prompted the Lord himself to put on a body made of flesh like ours and to lay down his life on the cross, so that our sins would be forgiven and to give us back access to his presence and his intimacy.

“For Elohim (God) so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, but His secret counsel is with the upright” Proverbs 3:32

Masturbation is not just A sin, but a bundle of sins which is made up of the following sins:

  • Lust

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife; and you shall not desire your neighbor’s house, his field, his male servant, his female servant, his ox, his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s” Deuteronomy 5:21

The word of Elohim defines lust as wanting or appropriating something that is forbidden. In the case of masturbation, it means lusting over someone in their mind or by looking at someone with desire as mentioned earlier. Beyond masturbation, the Lord goes further with regard to our thoughts and in particular our gaze on women. (and vice versa form men):

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery. But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Matthew 5:27

Those are pretty serious words our Lord and Savior have said, for is there anyone who has never looked at someone to lust after him? Even if it seems difficult, the Spirit of Elohim (God) enables us to resist and overcome lust.

“Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshy lusts which war against the soul” 1 Peter 2:11

It is a father’s advice to watch over our eyes, no matter how beautiful or shiny someone in front of us is.

“Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, nor let her allure you with her eyelids.” Proverbs 6:25

  • Nakedness

“And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed” Genesis 2:25

Nudity is a terrible spell that should not be taken lightly. It is hard to talk about masturbation without talking about yourself or someone else’s nudity. If nakedness was not a sin before the fall of Adam and Chavah (Eve), things turned different after that. From the original sin, Elohim (God) provided himself with a sacrifice to cover the nakedness of his creation, which will henceforth become the image of the sin of Man who is no longer covered by the Glory and Righteousness of Elohim (God).

“Also for Adam and his wife YHWH Elohim made tunics of skin, and clothed them.” Genesis 3:21

Nakedness is a state that shows the most intimate parts of a man or a woman. Showing them to someone other than the husband or wife Elohim gave you (except for some medical cases that we will not cover now) is a sin the Lord condemns. Showing one’s nakedness or seeing other’s in other cases than marriage exposes to a terrible ruin, like the ruin of Cham, son of Noah. (read Leviticus 17)

“And Cham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and Japhet took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see ther father’s nakedness. So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son dah done to him. Then he said: «Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants He shall be to his brethren.” And he said: “Blessed be YHWH, Elohim of Shem, and may Canaan be his servant.” Genesis 9: 22-26

To imagine the nudity of others in our mind, or seeing it through images, is considered a sin as much as theft, rebellion, lying and murder. Therefore, it is essential for a child of Elohim (God) to be careful what his eyes see, rejecting all content showing nudity which will certainly stain his soul (movies, series, television, ads, social networks, etc.)

“If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell” Matthew 5:29

  • The search for carnal pleasures rather than the fear of Elohim (God)

Carnal desires separate us from the presence of Elohim (God). Those who masturbate, covet others or even show their nudity risk the ruin and destruction of their souls with the advent of our Lord and Savior Yehoshua Mashiah (Jesus-Christ).

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of Elohim abides forever.” 1 John 2: 15 – 17

“For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the YHWH” But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; all those who hate me love death.” Proverbs 8: 35-36

Yehoshua ha Mashiah (Jesus-Christ) our ray of hope

As children of Yehoshua Mashiah, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit living in us and should not let our flesh dictate our behavior or lead us to sin.

“Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from Elohim (God), and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”1 Corinthians 6 18-20

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of Elohim (God), Elohim (God) will destroy him. For the temple of Elohim (God) is holy, which temple you are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

The author of the epistle of Corinthians spoke to people who knew the word of Elohim (God) but who became fleshly and easily affected by sin, especially sexual immorality. May the children of Elohim watch and know how to possess their bodies in the holiness expected by Elohim (God).

“For this is the will of Elohim (God), your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know Elohim (God)” A Thessalonians 4: 3-5

The reason I speak about this subject vehemently is because I was so concerned about masturbation, maybe even more than you or many others. Before I met the Lord, I was convinced that I could never leave these things. I could to tell relatives about it, but unfortunately, they couldn’t help me, not having the Lord themselves. I have been a slave to masturbation and pornography for many years because they were like a fortress against frustrations and misunderstandings for me. I used to run away to this castle to escape reality and focus on my own pleasure for a short time. I always knew in my heart that this habit was against the Lord’s will but found it hard to give up. I also used to go to church and “knew” the Bible, but it didn’t stop me from sinning regularly. I tried quitting a few times, like many others, for a week, maybe two, but sin always found a way to catch up with me and throw me in the dirt again.

When I first met Yehoshua, I knew I had to solve this problem, but I couldn’t; it was much stronger than me and I kept falling over and over again for several months. One day, after a church meeting, I came home, tired of being a hypocrite, bent my knees and pleaded the Lord to help me. It was neither a big speech nor a promise; I just cried and begged for his grace. I just COULDN’T do it without him. After my prayer, I didn’t feel delivered nor as a burden leaving my heart, but declared it was over in the name of Yehoshua.

There was a lot of fighting, especially at the beginning, but until today, that Is to say many years later, I have never folded and never will in the name of Yehoshua! If you are also concerned about this matter, I will not tell you that all your problems will be definitively gone because, as the word of Elohim (God) says, once delivered by the Lord, the evil spirit cast out will attempt to return with many other evil spirits to enslave you again in sin.

“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds non/ Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came’. And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation”. Matthew 12: 43-45

However, I know that true deliverance of our heart is found in Yehoshua, and that it is possible to hold on to him and walk in sanctification while being young!

“For Elohim (God) did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world trough Him might be saved.” John 3: 17

“Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” 1 Timothy 2: 21-22

Youth! Come out of masturbation and come to the Lord Yehoshua!
